MICHIGAN — One person was injured after a two-vehicle crash involving a semi-truck and a fallen tree early Monday morning in Michigan’s Cass County.
According to police, the crash happened around 4 a.m. on Calvin Center Road, just south of the intersection with Mount Zion Street in Calvin Township.
Investigators said a 53-year-old man from Dowagiac was traveling south on Calvin Center Road when his vehicle struck a tree that had fallen across the roadway.
A northbound semi-truck driven by a 60-year-old Colorado man then also struck the fallen tree. Police said the driver lost control of the semi-trailer after the impact, causing the trailer to collide with the Dowagiac man’s vehicle.
The Dowagiac man was transported to a hospital for treatment of his injuries. Authorities have not released an update on his condition.
The crash remains under investigation.
