OHIO — A Tennessee woman is $500,000 richer after an unexpected stop for gas in Ohio led to a life-changing Ohio Lottery scratch-off win.

According to the Ohio Lottery, the Nashville woman was traveling to a family reunion when she stopped for gas at the S&G #100 convenience store, located at 10730 Fremont Pike in Perrysburg. While paying for her fuel, she decided to purchase a $10 Bingo Times 50 Scratch-Off ticket.

The woman said she was playing the ticket and had reached the ninth game when she noticed she had matched the four corners. Moments later, the bonus number, G53, completed the required “X” pattern, making her the game’s $500,000 top prize winner.

“Thanks Ohio Lottery!” she said after discovering the win.

The winner said she was thankful she was the passenger instead of the driver because the trip to the reunion continued after the excitement. She kept the win a secret during the family gathering but said she plans to do something special for her family and take a trip.

After required federal and state tax withholdings totaling 26.75%, she will receive approximately $366,250.

The winning ticket was sold at S&G #100 in Perrysburg.

Since 1974, the Ohio Lottery says it has contributed more than $34 billion to education across the state.
