
FLORIDA — A 28-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after Florida Highway Patrol troopers stopped a wrong-way driver on Interstate 75 early Sunday morning.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, troopers responded at approximately 2:31 a.m. to reports of an SUV traveling south in the northbound lanes of I-75 near mile marker 150.
The vehicle was located four minutes later near the Bayshore Road exit at mile marker 143.
Troopers used a Precision Immobilization Technique (PIT) maneuver to rotate the SUV and bring it to a safe stop. The driver was taken into custody without further incident.
The driver, identified as Ana Cassandra Arreola, 28, was booked into the Lee County Jail on a charge of driving under the influence. Authorities said her blood alcohol content was measured at .161, which is above Florida’s legal limit of .08.
No injuries were reported.
