
GEORGIA — A person was killed and another injured in a crash involving a pickup truck and a car on Interstate 75 in Atlanta early Monday morning.
The crash occurred around 6 a.m. in the southbound lanes of I-75 near the Central Avenue exit in southeast Atlanta.
According to Atlanta Fire Rescue, one person was pronounced dead at the scene. A second person was injured in the crash, though officials have not released information about the extent of their injuries.
The identity of the person who died has not yet been released pending notification of family members.
The crash continues to cause significant traffic disruptions, with southbound lanes of I-75 currently closed near the Central Avenue exit as emergency crews and investigators remain at the scene.
Authorities have not said what led to the collision. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
