FLORIDA — A woman died after being struck by a vehicle in Fort Lauderdale on Monday night, according to police.
Fort Lauderdale Police said officers responded to the 1700 block of North Federal Highway at approximately 8:30 p.m. after receiving reports of a pedestrian being hit by a vehicle.
The woman was transported to Broward General Hospital for treatment. Despite lifesaving efforts, she later died from her injuries.
Authorities have not released the victim’s identity.
Police said the driver involved remained at the scene following the crash.
The Fort Lauderdale Police Traffic Homicide Unit is investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident. No additional details, including what led to the collision or whether any charges are expected, have been released.
