MISSISSIPPI — A Madison man was arrested after police said he damaged a cash register and threw it at an employee inside a Taco Bell restaurant.
According to the Madison Police Department, the incident happened around 2:30 p.m. June 7 at the Taco Bell in the 1800 block of Main Street.
Officers responded to a disturbance involving a delivery driver, later identified as John Michael Beall.
Investigators said Beall became upset after attempting to pick up a delivery order that was not yet ready. Police said he became irate, damaged a cash register and threw it at a restaurant employee during the incident.
Authorities said Beall then left the business and attempted to leave the area in his vehicle. Officers made contact with him in the restaurant parking lot and took him into custody.
Beall was charged with misdemeanor malicious mischief and simple assault by threat.
Police said he was later released on bond.
The case is expected to be presented in Madison Municipal Court. No injuries were reported.
