OHIO — A Dayton man was arrested after a woman was seriously injured in a hit-and-run crash at a city park over the weekend, according to police.

The incident happened around 4:40 p.m. Saturday at Liberation Park in the 800 block of Ferguson Avenue, the Dayton Police Department said.

Investigators said a gray Dodge Journey was backing southbound into a grassy area when it struck a 36-year-old woman who was walking behind the vehicle. Police said the driver did not stop or provide identification after the collision.

The woman suffered suspected serious injuries and was taken by medics to a local hospital for treatment.

A crash report identified the driver as 23-year-old Jak Morgan IV. According to police, Morgan was arrested about an hour after the crash on Summit Square Drive.

Morgan is being held in the Montgomery County Jail on suspicion of leaving the scene of an accident. As of Monday afternoon, formal charges had not yet been filed.

The investigation remains ongoing.
