
VIRGINIA — Police are searching for the driver involved in a deadly hit-and-run crash that killed a woman early Monday morning in Arlington.
According to Arlington County Police, officers responded to the area of Columbia Pike and South Thomas Street around 1:30 a.m. for a report of a collision involving a pedestrian.
When officers arrived, they found a woman unresponsive in the roadway. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators said the driver involved in the crash fled before officers arrived. Police have described the vehicle as a dark-colored SUV but have not released a make, model or license plate information.
The victim has not been publicly identified pending notification of next of kin.
