SOUTH CAROLINA — One person was killed in a head-on crash late Friday night in Anderson County, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
Troopers said the crash occurred at approximately 11:58 p.m. on South Carolina Highway 8 near U.S. 29 North and involved a Ford F-250 and a Chevrolet pickup truck.
According to investigators, the Ford was traveling east on SC-8 while the Chevrolet was traveling west. The Chevrolet crossed the center line and collided head-on with the Ford.
The driver of the Chevrolet died as a result of injuries sustained in the crash, the South Carolina Highway Patrol said.
Authorities have not released the identity of the victim.
No additional information about injuries to the occupants of the Ford was immediately available.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate the crash.
