
GEORGIA — One adult was killed and a 4-year-old child was injured in a multi-vehicle crash Thursday afternoon in Rome, according to police.
Officers said the crash occurred just before 4 p.m. on Highway 27 South near the Floyd County and City of Rome line.
Authorities said a Dodge Magnum, a Ford Taurus and a Toyota Sienna were involved in the collision.
Emergency responders from multiple agencies arrived at the scene and provided aid to those involved.
Police said one adult died at the crash site as a result of injuries sustained in the wreck. A 4-year-old child was also injured and was receiving medical treatment.
The identity of the person who died has not been released.
Officials said the crash scene remained active Thursday evening as investigators worked to determine what caused the collision.
The investigation is ongoing, and additional information is expected to be released as it becomes available.
