One person dead following vehicle crash in Indiana

INDIANA — One person was killed and three others were injured in a single-vehicle crash Tuesday afternoon in Bartholomew County, authorities said.

Emergency crews were called around 2:30 p.m. June 2 to the intersection of North 325 West and Lowell Road, just north of Columbus, for a reported crash involving one vehicle.

According to the Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office, one person was pronounced dead at the scene.

A second victim became trapped inside the vehicle and had to be extricated by emergency responders. The injured person was later airlifted to an Indianapolis hospital with serious injuries.

Two additional passengers were transported from the scene by ground ambulance for treatment.

Investigators with the Bartholomew County Crash Reconstruction Team responded to the scene and are working to determine what caused the crash.

The identities of those involved have not been released, and the investigation remains ongoing.
