FLORIDA — Police are investigating after a body was found in the water near a boat ramp in St. Petersburg on Tuesday morning.
Officers responded just after 9 a.m. to the Grandview Boat Ramp on 6th Street South between 37th and 38th avenues, according to St. Petersburg police.
Based on a preliminary investigation, authorities believe the body is that of a 66-year-old man who was reported missing around 9 p.m. Monday.
The Pinellas-Pasco Medical Examiner’s Office is working to determine the cause of death.
Police said the investigation remains in its early stages and is currently being treated as a possible suicide.
No additional information has been released as the investigation continues.
