
GEORGIA — One person was killed and another was airlifted to a hospital following a single-vehicle crash Tuesday morning on Interstate 75 in Crisp County, authorities said.
According to the Crisp County Sheriff’s Office, the crash happened around 7 a.m. near mile marker 98 when the driver lost control of the vehicle, left the roadway, became airborne, struck a billboard and overturned.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger was airlifted to a nearby hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash.
Photos released from the scene show the vehicle suffered extensive damage, with the front end crushed and the windshield shattered.
The identity of the driver has not been released pending notification of family members.
The Georgia State Patrol is investigating the crash. No additional information has been released.
