MISSISSIPPI — A 13-year-old boy has died after drowning in a neighborhood lake in Walls, according to the DeSoto County Sheriff’s Office.
The incident occurred around 6 p.m. on June 1 when the child fell into the lake. Deputies responded to the scene and were able to rescue the boy from the water.
The child was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment but later died from his injuries.
Authorities said the drowning appears to have been accidental. The DeSoto County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigation into the incident.
