FLORIDA — A 24-year-old Bradenton woman was killed Saturday afternoon in a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 4 in Volusia County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred at approximately 1:49 p.m. in the westbound lanes of I-4 near Orange Camp Road in Lake Helen.
Troopers said the woman was driving a 2021 Kia Soul westbound in the outside lane when, for reasons that remain under investigation, the SUV traveled off the right side of the roadway and struck a support pole for a travel sign.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities have not released her identity pending notification of next of kin.
The Florida Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate the crash.
