TENNESSEE — A tractor-trailer overturned on Interstate 40 in Humphreys County early Friday morning, blocking eastbound traffic for nearly two hours.
According to the Tennessee Department of Transportation, the crash happened around 5:20 a.m. near mile marker 143, west of the communities of Bucksnort and Only.
The overturned trailer blocked both eastbound lanes of the interstate, causing delays for morning commuters. TDOT SmartWay cameras showed crews working to clear the scene, with two heavy-duty tow trucks helping return the semi-truck to an upright position shortly before 6:30 a.m.
Once the vehicle was back on its wheels, crews removed it from the roadway and reopened the interstate shortly after 7 a.m.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol has not released additional details about the crash.
The cause of the wreck remains under investigation.
