OHIO — A 21-year-old man died after being shot multiple times while inside a vehicle Saturday evening in Akron, according to police and the Summit County Medical Examiner’s Office.
The shooting happened around 6:20 p.m. in the 1200 block of Winton Avenue. Akron police and EMS responded to the area after reports of a shooting at a residence.
When first responders arrived, they found the victim inside a vehicle suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
The man was taken to Cleveland Clinic Akron General Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead.
Authorities said the Akron Police Department and the Summit County Medical Examiner’s Office are investigating the homicide. The victim’s identity has not yet been released pending notification of next of kin.
