Thousands without power in Tennessee

TENNESSEE — Thousands of customers across Tennessee remain without electricity Friday morning, according to PowerOutage.us.

As of the latest update, 3,754 homes and businesses across the state are currently without power. The outages affect about 0.11% of the more than 3.4 million customers tracked statewide.

Knox County has the largest number of outages in Tennessee, with 1,970 customers in the dark. Hamilton County reports 524 outages, while Monroe County has 203 customers without electricity. Sumner County is reporting 202 outages, and Davidson County, which includes Nashville, has 179.

Among utilities, Lenoir City Utilities Board reports the highest number of outages statewide, with 1,922 customers affected. Volunteer Energy Cooperative has 553 outages, and Nashville Electric Service reports 380 customers without power.

PowerOutage.us said Tennessee currently ranks fourth in the nation for the number of active outages and fifth nationwide for the percentage of customers affected.

Utility crews are continuing restoration efforts across the state Friday morning. No widespread cause for the outages was immediately identified.
