
FLORIDA — A 25-year-old Orlando man was killed after crashing into a support column along Interstate 75 in Manatee County early Thursday morning, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Troopers said the crash happened around 12:30 a.m. near mile marker 228 in Palmetto.
Investigators said the man was driving on I-75 when he failed to negotiate a curve, causing the vehicle to leave the roadway and collide with a support column for the Interstate 275 overpass.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene, according to FHP.
Authorities have not released the victim’s identity.
The Florida Highway Patrol continues to investigate the crash.
