Thousands without power in Arkansas

ARKANSAS — More than 4,500 customers across Arkansas are currently without electricity Wednesday morning, according to PowerOutage.us.

As of the latest update, 4,594 homes and businesses statewide are experiencing active power outages. Arkansas currently ranks fifth in the nation for the total number of outages and third nationwide for the percentage of customers affected.

Pulaski County has by far the highest number of outages in the state, with 3,259 customers currently without power. Other counties reporting outages include Washington County with 265, Poinsett County with 188, Union County with 180 and Jefferson County with 138.

North Little Rock Electric reported the largest number of outages among utility providers, with 3,256 customers affected. The utility also has the highest outage percentage in the state, with about 8.02% of its customers without electricity Wednesday morning.

Entergy reported 581 outages statewide, while Southwestern Electric Power Company had 324 outages. Craighead Electric Cooperative reported 186 outages.

Overall, about 0.27% of the more than 1.6 million customers tracked across Arkansas are currently without power.

Utility crews continue working to restore service in affected areas across the state.
