
IOWA — More than 3,000 customers across Iowa are without power Saturday morning, according to PowerOutage.us.
As of the latest update, 3,050 homes and businesses in the state are currently affected by outages. Iowa ranks eighth in the nation for the total number of outages and fifth nationwide for the percentage of customers impacted.
Floyd County is reporting the highest number of outages in the state, with 1,031 customers currently without electricity. The county is also among the hardest-hit areas statewide, with more than 12% of tracked customers affected.
Other counties reporting significant outages include Cerro Gordo County with 747 customers without power, Butler County with 548, Chickasaw County with 304 and Montgomery County with 149.
Among utility providers, Butler County REC reports the largest number of outages statewide, with 1,898 customers currently affected. The utility also has the highest outage percentage, with nearly 38% of its tracked customers without service.
Alliant Energy reports 788 outages statewide, while MidAmerican Energy Company reports 243 affected customers.
