
MINNESOTA — More than 6,200 customers across Minnesota are without power Saturday morning, according to PowerOutage.us.
As of the latest update, 6,201 homes and businesses in the state are currently affected by outages. Minnesota has the third-highest number of power outages in the country and ranks fourth nationwide for the percentage of customers impacted.
Rice County is experiencing the largest number of outages, with 6,036 customers without electricity. That accounts for nearly 16% of tracked customers in the county, making it the hardest-hit area in the state.
Other counties reporting outages include Lake County with 86 customers affected, Hennepin County with 23, Dakota County with 19 and Wright County with 16.
Among utility providers, Xcel Energy reports the highest number of outages statewide, with 6,072 customers currently without power. Co-op Light & Power has the highest outage percentage among tracked utilities, with 1.6% of its customers affected.
PowerOutage.us said nearly 2.95 million customers are tracked across Minnesota. Crews continue working to restore service in affected areas.
