OHIO — Akron Police and the Summit County Medical Examiner’s Office are investigating after a 40-year-old man was found shot to death inside a vehicle Thursday evening.
According to the Summit County Medical Examiner’s Office, police officers and EMS crews were called around 7:20 p.m. to the area of Marcy Street and Cole Avenue for reports of a shooting.
When first responders arrived, they found a man suffering from gunshot wounds inside a car. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said.
Authorities said the victim’s identity will be released after notification of next of kin and completion of an autopsy.
Akron Police are continuing to investigate what led to the shooting. No information about possible suspects or arrests had been released as of Friday morning.
The investigation remains ongoing.
