ARKANSAS — Two people have been arrested following a high-speed crash that seriously injured a 67-year-old woman in Greenbrier, according to Arkansas State Police.

Authorities said the crash happened May 7 near U.S. Highway 65. Witnesses told investigators that a Chevrolet Camaro driven by 32-year-old Katiana Edwards of Vilonia and a Dodge Challenger driven by 24-year-old Rakaleon Dobbins of North Little Rock were racing at high speeds before the crash.

Police said the Camaro struck another vehicle as it entered U.S. Highway 65 from State Highway 25. The 67-year-old driver of the vehicle that was hit suffered serious injuries and was flown by medical helicopter to UAMS in Little Rock for treatment.

Arkansas State Police arrested Edwards and Dobbins on May 12.

Edwards was booked on a felony charge of first-degree battery, while Dobbins was charged with felony aggravated assault.
