MINNESOTA — A 16-year-old boy who was reported missing earlier this week has been found dead in Rochester, Minnesota, according to the Rochester Police Department.
Police said Christian Gary was last seen around 7 p.m. Sunday after leaving his home in the 2000 block of 5th Avenue Southwest to ride his e-bike. Authorities issued a missing person alert Monday evening as officers and family members searched for him.
On Wednesday morning, police confirmed that Gary’s body was discovered Tuesday evening near the intersection of Bamber Valley Road Southwest and Salem Road Southwest.
Investigators are now working with the Southern Minnesota Regional Medical Examiner’s Office to determine the cause of death.
Police have not said whether foul play is suspected, but officials stated there is currently no known threat to the public.
“We extend our heartfelt sympathies to the family and all those affected by this loss,” Rochester Police Communications Coordinator Amanda Grayson said in a statement.
The investigation remains ongoing.
