KENTUCKY — A body was found Friday in a creek in Green County, according to local emergency officials.
Green County Emergency Management said the county’s 911 center received a report from kayakers who discovered a body tangled in brush along Big Pitman Creek in the Montgomery Mill area.
Emergency crews responded to the scene and recovered the body from the creek.
The Kentucky State Police is investigating the incident.
Officials said the identity of the person will be released after next of kin have been notified. Green County Emergency Management said it issued a statement after several news outlets began reporting on the discovery.
The investigation remains ongoing.
