
TEXAS — One person was killed and another injured in a two-vehicle crash early Monday morning in Travis County, according to the Austin Police Department.
Police said the crash happened before 2:30 a.m. along the 6100 block of south FM 973 Road.
One person died at the scene. Authorities have not yet released the victim’s identity.
Another person was taken to a hospital with minor injuries, police said.
Investigators have not said what caused the crash, and few details have been released.
Both lanes of south FM 973 Road were closed following the collision as officers worked to clear the scene. It is unclear when the roadway will reopen.
The investigation remains ongoing.
