ALABAMA — One person was injured in a shooting early Sunday morning in the Harvest community of Madison County, according to deputies.
The Madison County Sheriff’s Office said the victim arrived at a Huntsville hospital for treatment after the shooting. Deputies said the vehicle the victim arrived in appeared to have multiple bullet holes and was smoking.
Investigators said the shooting happened near the intersection of Old Railroad Bed Road and Nick Davis Road around 3:30 a.m. Witnesses told deputies they heard about 10 gunshots fired at a gas station in the area.
Authorities said the people who brought the victim to the hospital fled the scene on foot. Huntsville police officers and sheriff’s deputies established a perimeter around the hospital while searching for the suspects.
The victim’s condition has not been released.
The investigation remains ongoing.
