VIRGINIA — A man was injured in a shooting early Sunday morning in Portsmouth, according to police.
Portsmouth police said officers responded around 1:20 a.m. to the 2300 block of South Street for a report of a shooting.
When officers arrived, they found an adult man suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Police said the shooting is not connected to another shooting that happened earlier on Frederick Boulevard.
Authorities also said there is no known threat to the public at this time.
No additional information, including the victim’s condition or possible suspects, has been released. The investigation remains ongoing.
