TENNESSEE — A review of available 2025-26 Tennessee public school calendars shows many districts across the state are scheduled to finish classes during May 2026, with several ending the school year before Memorial Day.
Among the districts with the earliest May ending dates is Clarksville-Montgomery County School System, which lists May 21, 2026 as the final student day of the school year. The district calendar notes May 22 as the final teacher day and a possible make-up day if needed.
Knox County Schools also plans to conclude the school year on May 21, 2026, with students attending a half day on the final day. Teachers are scheduled for an administrative day on May 22.
In Middle Tennessee, Williamson County Schools lists May 21, 2026 as the last day for students and the end of the second semester. Graduation ceremonies are scheduled during the May 21-24 window.
Maury County Public Schools is also scheduled to end classes on May 21, 2026, according to the district’s published calendar.
Several districts extend one additional day into May 22. Maryville City Schools lists May 22, 2026 as the last day for students.
Sequatchie County Schools also plans an abbreviated final student day on May 22, 2026.
In Robertson County, the district calendar identifies May 22, 2026 as a half-day and report card day for students and staff.
Some Tennessee districts continue later into May. A Lawrence County Schools calendar announcement lists May 28, 2026 as the final student day for that district.
Not every Tennessee district ends during May, however. Oak Ridge Schools currently lists June 2, 2026 as the final student day for the district.
Several large districts, including Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools and Hamilton County Schools, have calendar pages posted online but do not clearly display final student dates within the search preview results reviewed.
Tennessee school calendars can change because of weather-related closures, state requirements or future board revisions. This review was based on publicly available 2025-26 calendars and district announcements and should not be considered a complete list of every Tennessee school district.
