ILLINOIS — A 41-year-old man was killed after crashing into a light pole on Chicago’s West Side Thursday night, according to police.
The crash happened just before 9 p.m. in the 3300 block of West Ogden Avenue in the North Lawndale neighborhood.
Chicago police said the man was driving at a high rate of speed when he lost control of the vehicle and struck a light pole.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. No other injuries were reported.
Authorities have not released the victim’s identity.
The crash remains under investigation by the Chicago Police Department Major Accident Investigation Unit.
