
ALABAMA — A tornado watch remains in effect for portions of southeast Alabama until 1 p.m. CDT Thursday, according to the National Weather Service in Tallahassee.
The watch includes Geneva and Houston counties in southeast Alabama.

Forecasters said conditions are favorable for the development of tornadoes and severe thunderstorms across the area through the afternoon hours.
Communities included in the watch area include Dothan, Geneva, Hartford, Cottonwood, Ashford and surrounding areas.
The National Weather Service urged residents to stay weather-aware and be prepared to seek shelter quickly if warnings are issued. Officials recommend monitoring local forecasts and having multiple ways to receive emergency weather alerts.
The tornado watch is scheduled to remain in effect until 1 p.m. CDT Thursday.
