PENNSYLVANIA — One person was injured in a shooting Monday night following a domestic-related altercation in Pittsburgh’s Garfield neighborhood, according to officials.

Pittsburgh Public Safety said officers were called just after 7 p.m. to the 5000 block of Columbo Street.

Police said a father had gone to the residence to pick up his children from their mother’s home when he became involved in an altercation with another man inside. The father left with the children and returned a short time later.

Investigators said the father then fired a gun at the man from his vehicle.

The victim suffered a gunshot wound to the elbow and was taken to a hospital by private vehicle. Authorities said he is expected to recover.

No children were injured in the incident.

Officials said the suspect was later stopped by Wilkinsburg police and taken in for questioning. The investigation remains ongoing.
