FLORIDA — A 58-year-old woman was arrested last week after authorities say she assaulted a driver and damaged his vehicle during a road rage incident.

According to the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred Tuesday near Southwest Eighth Street and 87th Avenue.

Investigators said Roxana Castaneda, of Miami, followed the victim’s vehicle for several blocks before both drivers stopped at a traffic light. Castaneda then exited her vehicle and struck the hood of the victim’s car, causing a small dent. Deputies said she also reached through the front passenger-side window and struck the driver’s hand.

Authorities said Castaneda fled the scene after the confrontation. The victim, who was not injured, recorded much of the incident on his cellphone. Officials estimated the damage to the vehicle at about $300.

According to the arrest report, Castaneda was taken into custody Friday at Baby Nail Bar, located at 1305 SW 107th Ave.

While being transported, deputies said Castaneda questioned the charges against her and referenced reaching into the vehicle. Once at the station, she invoked her right to remain silent and declined to provide a statement.

Castaneda faces charges of burglary with assault or battery and criminal mischief. As of Monday morning, she remained held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on a $150 bond.
