NEW JERSEY — More than 2,000 customers across New Jersey are currently without electricity Saturday morning, according to the latest data from PowerOutage.us.
As of the most recent update, approximately 2,085 homes and businesses are without power statewide, representing about 0.05% of the more than 4.1 million customers tracked. New Jersey ranks eighth in the nation for total outages and 10th for the percentage of customers affected.
The majority of outages are concentrated in Monmouth County, where more than 1,200 customers are currently without service. Middlesex County is also heavily impacted, with more than 600 outages reported.
Additional outages have been reported in Burlington, Union, Ocean, Essex, Warren, and Bergen counties, though in smaller numbers.
Among utility providers, FirstEnergy is reporting the largest number of outages, with more than 1,900 customers without power. Public Service Electric and Gas Company and Atlantic City Electric are also reporting scattered outages across the state.
Officials have not identified a single cause for the outages, which appear to be concentrated in certain regions rather than statewide. Utility crews are continuing restoration efforts, and residents are encouraged to monitor updates from their local providers as work to restore power continues.
