INDIANA — Two southern Indiana students were taken into custody Thursday after making threats against a school, according to officials with Greater Clark County Schools.
Superintendent Mark Laughner said the investigation began around 1:15 p.m. when a threatening voicemail was received by front office staff at Jeffersonville High School. School officials immediately notified the school resource officer and Jeffersonville Police, launching an investigation.
Authorities quickly determined that the threat originated from two students at another school within the district. Both students were detained within minutes and later taken into custody, officials said.
Investigators also discovered that similar threats had been made to several other schools and local businesses in the area.
Officials have not released the names of the students involved. The incident remains under investigation.
