SOUTH CAROLINA — A weekend traffic stop in Orangeburg County led to more than a dozen drug and weapons charges against a man, according to the Orangeburg County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities said Reggie Anderson, 49, was arrested and charged with trafficking fentanyl, cocaine, ecstasy, methamphetamine and heroin. He also faces charges of possession with intent to distribute marijuana and distribution of cocaine.
In addition, Anderson is charged with two counts of possession of a weapon or ammunition by a person convicted of a drug-related offense and nine counts of possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
According to Sheriff Leroy Ravenell, deputies conducted the traffic stop around 4:30 p.m. Saturday in the Vance area for a traffic violation.
During the stop, deputies discovered a bag containing illegal narcotics along with two firearms inside the vehicle.
“Any drug-users expecting their mobile pharmacy’s home visit were disappointed,” Ravenell said. “We found a wide variety of illegal drugs during this stop.”
Anderson was denied bond during a hearing Sunday.
The case remains under investigation.
