Two people arrested following fentanyl bust in Tennessee

TENNESSEE — Two people have been arrested following a drug investigation in the Goodspring area of Giles County that led to the seizure of fentanyl, firearms and cash, according to authorities.

Investigators with the Giles County Sheriff’s Office, Pulaski Police Department and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation executed a search warrant at a home on Fall River Road.

During the search, officials said they seized approximately 84 grams of fentanyl, about 20 grams of marijuana, two firearms, drug paraphernalia, more than $8,000 in cash and a vehicle.

Sheriff Joe Purvis said the operation is part of ongoing efforts to combat drug activity in the community and emphasized the dangers posed by fentanyl.

As a result of the investigation, Kendrick Young Jr. was arrested and charged with possession of fentanyl with intent to sell, possession of marijuana with intent to sell, two counts of felon in possession of a firearm, two counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony, unlawful drug paraphernalia and simple possession.

Allison Griggs was also arrested and charged with two counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony, possession of fentanyl with intent to sell, possession of marijuana with intent to sell and unlawful drug paraphernalia.

Authorities said the investigation remains ongoing and encouraged community members to report suspected drug activity.
