PENNSYLVANIA — A man and woman are dead following a suspected murder-suicide early Tuesday morning in Butler County, according to Pennsylvania State Police.
Troopers said a 26-year-old man shot his 25-year-old wife multiple times at their home on Graywyck Drive in Seven Fields.
Authorities said the investigation began around 1:15 a.m. after Northern Regional Police received a call from the suspect’s parents, who live out of state. Police were told the man had claimed he killed his wife and was in a wooded area threatening to take his own life.
Officers responded to the home and found the woman dead inside the residence. A search of the surrounding area was launched, involving dozens of officers.
The suspect was later found in a wooded area near the Cranberry Township line with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound, police said.
Officials described the incident as isolated. Pennsylvania State Police are continuing to investigate.
