OHIO — Multiple highway workers were injured early Tuesday after two separate Ohio Department of Transportation crews were struck by vehicles within minutes of each other along Interstate 90.
According to reports, the incidents occurred just before 1 a.m. near East 260th Street in Euclid and involved crews working in both the eastbound and westbound lanes.
Authorities said an eastbound crew patching potholes was hit when a vehicle struck a truck towing an arrow board. Around the same time, a separate westbound crew working in the fast lane was also struck when a vehicle hit the rear of a work truck.
Emergency crews responded to both scenes and transported several workers to area hospitals. Officials have not released details on their conditions.
It remains unclear what led to the crashes or whether any charges will be filed.
The incidents remain under investigation.
