Three people arrested following large drug bust in Florida

FLORIDA — Three men were arrested after deputies uncovered multiple firearms and drugs during a search of a Tampa home, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators said the sheriff’s office Gang Unit served a search warrant at the residence on April 24.

During the search, detectives located several firearms, including a Glock 22 handgun, two AR-15-style rifles and a semi-automatic shotgun.

Authorities also reported finding approximately 1.25 pounds of cannabis, a trafficking amount of oxycodone, a quantity of cocaine and various items of drug paraphernalia.

Officials identified the suspects as Jayshod Nereus, 30; Janos Borgella, 26; and Ira Strappier, 32.

Nereus had an outstanding warrant for reckless driving and now faces additional charges, including armed possession of cocaine, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and possession of a short-barreled rifle.

Borgella is charged with armed possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, armed trafficking in oxycodone and other related charges.

Strappier was taken into custody on an outstanding warrant for failure to appear.

The investigation remains ongoing.
