TEXAS — A 38-year-old Oklahoma man died after a tow truck rollover crash on Interstate 20 in Reeves County, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
The crash happened around 9 p.m. Saturday, April 25, near mile marker 26.
Authorities identified the victim as Anthonny Michael Zinn, of Duncan, Oklahoma. He was taken to Odessa Regional Medical Center, where he later died from his injuries.
According to DPS, a 2023 International tow truck was traveling west on I-20, followed by a 2019 Freightliner M2, also heading west.
Investigators said the tow truck driver saw smoke in the roadway and moved into the left lane to avoid it. The driver then overcorrected while attempting to return to the right lane, lost control and the vehicle rolled over.
During the rollover, cargo from the tow truck was ejected and struck the Freightliner behind it, authorities said.
The crash remains under investigation.
