
SOUTH CAROLINA — One person is dead following a single-vehicle crash late Saturday night in Colleton County, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
The crash happened just before 11:30 p.m. on Highway 21 near Fireman Lane.
Troopers said the driver of a 2026 Tesla sedan was traveling south when the vehicle ran off the right side of the road. The car then struck a curb, a utility pole and a fence before overturning.
The driver, who was the only person in the vehicle, was taken to a nearby hospital but later died from their injuries.
Authorities have not released the identity of the driver.
The crash remains under investigation.
