INDIANA — An 18-year-old motorcyclist was killed Friday morning in a crash on Interstate 74 near the Ohio-Indiana border, according to Indiana State Police.

Authorities identified the victim as Christopher Davis of Hooven, Ohio.

Police said the crash happened around 7:45 a.m. near the 170-mile marker as both Davis and a pickup truck were traveling westbound on I-74. Investigators said Davis rear-ended the pickup truck while riding a Honda motorcycle.

Davis was transported by ambulance to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, where he later died from his injuries.

The driver of the pickup truck, a 30-year-old man from Arizona, was not injured in the crash.

Preliminary findings indicate Davis was traveling well above the posted speed limit at the time of the collision, police said.

Indiana State Police are continuing to investigate the crash.
