Part of I-40 in Tennessee shut down following vehicle crash

TENNESSEE — Interstate 40 East in Davidson County has been shut down Sunday afternoon following a multi-vehicle crash, according to transportation officials.

The crash occurred just after 3 p.m. near mile marker 192, according to TDOT SmartWay.

Authorities reported that all eastbound lanes are blocked as a result of the crash. The entry ramp in the area was also closed, and the right shoulder was blocked.

No information about injuries or the number of vehicles involved was immediately released.

Drivers are advised to avoid the area and expect delays as crews work to clear the scene.

The incident remains under investigation.
