
TEXAS — More than 10,000 homes and businesses across Texas are without power as of Saturday morning, according to the latest data from PowerOutage.us.
As of the most recent update, 10,636 customers were reported without electricity statewide, representing about 0.07% of the more than 15.6 million customers tracked.
The largest number of outages has been reported in Tarrant County, where 2,147 customers are without power. Dallas County follows with 1,892 outages, while Sherman County has 1,179 customers affected. Additional outages have been reported in Taylor County (708), Fort Bend County (686), Cooke County (546), Harris County (509), and Wise County (421).
Utility providers are also reporting scattered impacts across the state. Oncor accounts for the highest number of outages, with 5,692 customers affected. CenterPoint Energy reports nearly 1,200 outages, while Xcel Energy and American Electric Power Texas each report more than 700 customers without power. Smaller providers, including PenTex Energy, are also seeing localized disruptions.
Texas currently ranks among the states with the highest number of outages nationwide, though the overall percentage of customers affected remains relatively low.
Restoration efforts are ongoing, and no estimated timeline for full restoration has been released. Residents are encouraged to report outages to their utility providers and avoid downed power lines.
