INDIANA — Thousands of homes and businesses across Indiana are without power as of Saturday morning, according to the latest data from PowerOutage.us.

As of the most recent update, 8,799 customers were reported without electricity statewide, representing about 0.27% of the more than 3.2 million customers tracked.

The most significant outages are concentrated in northern Indiana. Newton County has the highest number of outages, with 3,734 customers affected — accounting for more than half of all customers in the county.

Lake County follows with 3,028 outages, while St. Joseph County reports 628 customers without power. Additional outages have been reported in Marshall County (347), Benton County (277), Porter County (247), LaPorte County (148), and Starke County (118).

Utility companies are also reporting widespread impacts. Northern Indiana Public Service Company accounts for the largest share, with more than 7,400 customers without power. Indiana Michigan Power reports over 800 outages, while several rural electric cooperatives are also experiencing service disruptions.

Indiana ranks among the states with the highest number of outages nationwide and is among the most impacted by percentage of customers affected.

Restoration efforts are ongoing, and no timeline has been provided for when all power will be restored. Residents are urged to report outages and avoid downed power lines.
