ILLINOIS — Two people were injured in a two-vehicle crash Friday afternoon near Monroe Center, according to the Ogle County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded around 4:45 p.m. on April 17 to the intersection of North Kilbuck Road and East Big Mound Road.
Investigators said a vehicle driven by 23-year-old Hailey E. McGlaughlin disregarded a stop sign on East Big Mound Road and struck the passenger side of another vehicle traveling on North Kilbuck Road, driven by 38-year-old Napoleon Simmons.
Both vehicles came to rest in a field northeast of the intersection.
Simmons was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, authorities said. McGlaughlin suffered suspected serious injuries and was transported to Javon Bea Hospital in Rockford.
McGlaughlin was issued multiple traffic citations.
The crash remains under investigation.
