
VIRGINIA — An 88-year-old woman was killed in a two-vehicle crash Thursday morning in Bedford County, according to Virginia State Police.
Troopers said the crash happened around 10:30 a.m. at the intersection of Lovers Lane and Fork Lane.
Authorities determined that a 2011 Ford Escape was attempting to make a left turn onto Lovers Lane from Fork Lane when it failed to yield the right-of-way. The vehicle was then struck by a 1997 Honda Accord.
The driver of the Ford Escape, identified as Jackie Deumont Gray, 88, of Vinton, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Honda, an 18-year-old, was not injured in the crash, police said.
The incident remains under investigation by Virginia State Police.
