NORTH CAROLINA — A 2-year-old child died Wednesday night after officers responded to a reported overdose call at an apartment complex in southwest Charlotte, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.
Police said officers were dispatched around 8:49 p.m. to the 5700 block of Westpark Drive, near Interstate 77 and Tyvola Road.
The child was taken to Atrium Health Main, where he was pronounced dead at 9:58 p.m., according to an incident report.
Authorities have not released additional details about what led to the child’s death.
The investigation remains ongoing.
